The court was hearing the public interest litigation filed by K R Rajendran who sought for a direction to forbear the authorities from constructing a unit for dumping biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste for establishing a bio-gas plant at Melapanaiyur village at Thirumayam taluk in the district.
