As the coal scarcity forced the Punjab government to shut down some of its thermal power plants earlier this month and the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) had to purchase electricity from outside the state at a very high cost, chairman and managing director (CMD) of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) Sanjiv Mehta has advised the state government to focus more on renewable energy.
