India’s commitment to combat climate change and reduce the effects of global warming has led to fixing an audacious national target of generating 500 GW of electricity from renewable energy sources by 2030. Out of the said 500 GW approximately 280 GW is planned to be achieved through solar energy. Even though local manufacturers produce some of the components/equipment, Indian developers have imported most of the equipment installed in a solar power plant.
