Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated 19 projects worth Rs 17,616 crore and laid the foundation for 28 industrial ventures with an investment of Rs 51,157 crore. These initiatives are expected to provide employment for over one lakh people. Notably, Sembcorp and Greenko Group committed major investments in renewable energy projects in Tamil Nadu during the investment conclave 2024.

Brookfield, a global owner and operator of real assets, has proposed to invest massively in Andhra Pradesh in the next three to five years in renewable energy, focusing on wind and solar formats.

The supply orders will be executed from its new manufacturing facility located in Sanand, Gujarat over the next three months, the steel pipes maker said in a statement.

The conglomerate saw June quarter pre-tax profit surge by 33 per cent on back of strong performance by the core infrastructure business as also emerging businesses ranging from solar and wind manufacturing to airports.

"The consistently advancing EBITDA is largely driven by the Group's highly stable and resilient 'core infrastructure' platform, which constitutes over 80 per cent of the portfolio EBITDA and saw a remarkable 41.6 per cent growth year-on-year in Q1," it said.

Energix will initially supply 1.5 gigawatt peak of solar project development until 2030, with an option to further expand the partnership.

The partnership with UGRO Capital is aimed at acquiring new customers and grabbing a larger slice of the solar finance pie in the backdrop of the Centre's increased fund allocation to solar energy projects such as PM Surya Ghar Yojana, it said.

The power generated from these projects is primarily utilized by other states through the 400KV central transmission network to fulfill their respective State RPO Obligations.

The Heads of Terms (HoT) agreement was signed between Sembcorp Industries, Sojitz Corporation, Kyushu Electric Power Co., and NYK Line, establishing a cross-border green ammonia supply partnership from India to Japan. This collaboration is the first of its kind between the two countries, highlighting India’s growing role in the global green energy landscape.
