The projected capital expenditure or capex for 2024-25 (April 2024 to March 2025) fiscal is 40 per cent higher than what the portfolio is estimated to have incurred in FY24.

The ministry is inviting proposals from developers, manufacturers, organizations, universities, R&D institutions, and industry players engaged in the manufacturing and development of small biogas plants.

The project, which will be situated in the solar park of Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) at Khavda, Kachchh district, was awarded to SGEL after a competitive bidding process that concluded with a tariff of Rs 2.66 per unit.

This BESS project, part of a broader 250 MW / 500 MWh initiative by GUVNL, aims to enhance the state's energy storage capabilities to ensure a consistent supply of renewable energy.

The e-reverse auction for the project was conducted by GUVNL (Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam) on March 2, 2024 and the Letter of Intent was issued on March 14, 2024, a company statement said.
