The agreement, signed on March 10, promises to finance projects across both power and non-power infrastructure sectors, committing an investment of up to ₹20,000 crore annually for a period of six years, extending through 2030.

Japan is aiming to become a major offshore wind power producer, with the government targeting 10 GW by 2030 and up to 45 GW by 2040 as part of its decarbonisation push.

The build-own-operate project is part of a 1.5GW bid issued by SJVN in September 2023, a company statement said.
