During a virtual press briefing on Monday, Pyatt shared his views about energy priorities, and on opportunities and challenges around critical minerals for the global energy transition.

Organized by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry under the ministry of petroleum and natural gas, the event will bring together participants from 120 countries, including energy ministers from 17 nations and CEOs from leading oil and gas companies.

The visit will commence with the inauguration of the ONGC Sea Survival Centre at 10:30 AM, followed by the launch of India Energy Week 2024 at 10:45 AM, and participation in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 programme at 2:45 PM.

The inaugural day of the event, following its predecessor's success and last year's inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will feature ministerial panels and leadership discussions on key global energy challenges.

The government had prepared a solar policy in 2017 to increase the solar power capacity of the state, and it has set a target to generate at least 1,000 MW of electricity in the next three years.

Officials from ministries and departments, including NITI Aayog, electronics, IT, telecommunications, heavy industries, renewable energy, and pharmaceuticals, participated in the discussions.
