Adani Green Energy, the renewable energy unit of the Adani Group, led by billionaire Gautam Adani, won the approval in February last year to invest $442 million and develop the 484 megawatts wind power plants in Mannar town and Pooneryn village, both located in the Northern province of Sri Lanka.

"This investment represents responsAbility's most substantial commitment to climate financing to date and will help AMPIN in growing its renewable energy portfolio across India," India headquartered AMPIN said in a statement.

Through this project, Juniper Green anticipates an annual generation of 2,179 MU, which will offset around 20,41,811 tonnes of CO2 annually.
