There is significant opportunity in India for collaboration between stakeholders in both countries in the energy space, Heimer said addressing the 2nd Energy Summit of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce(IACC) here.

Joshi detailed that the ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) aims to achieve a target of 500 GW of installed electricity capacity from non-fossil sources by 2030, as part of commitments made at COP26. "Viksit Bharat is our aim, Urja Vikas is our mission," said Joshi, emphasizing the government's focus on enhancing energy security, which is one of its nine key priority areas.

The collaboration intends to harness Mitsubishi Power’s innovative GTCC technology alongside Hygenco’s supply of green fuel to cater to potential customers, aiming to develop commercially viable green hydrogen and green ammonia production assets.

India is doing well by global standards, but we’re not doing enough – we need to more than triple our current deployments just to meet 2030 targets. However, very few countries are adding RE fast enough – China is an exception, but, yet, it still adds more coal capacity as well!

The order has been secured from the Rural Development Department of Uttar Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), a company statement said.

He made the remarks post release of the company's first Annual Integrated Report which focuses on ReNew's commitment to scale up capacity, keeping environment in mind.

The rating underscores the company for leading its peers in carbon emission mitigation practices and capitalising on opportunities in renewable energy space, it said.

The QIP, which is AESL'Enterprises Limited (AEL) in July 2015, was launched post-market hours on 30 July 2024. The initial base deal size was set at Rs 5,861 crore (USD 700 million), with a green shoe option allowing for an increase to Rs 8,373 crore (USD 1 billion).
