The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), COP29 Presidency and Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan announced that the first Energy Transition Investment Forum for Central Asia will be hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 15-16 November 2024.

The collaboration spans areas such as quality shipping, maritime training, piracy control, and green maritime technology. A key development has been the revision of a 2019 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2022, which includes a provision for establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in India.
