The newly launched AI Zone at ADIPEC showcased innovative AI solutions, with tech leaders like Microsoft’s Neeraj Joshi and Carbon Clean’s Aniruddha Sharma presenting the latest in AI-driven clean energy projects.

The World Solar Market Report forecasts that global solar capacity could reach as high as 7,203 GW by 2030, fueled by climate goals under the Paris Agreement. Alongside this, the solar sector has seen employment soar to 7.1 million jobs worldwide—a 44% increase from last year—highlighting solar’s economic potential.

​The IPO will close on Friday, 8 November, 2024. Investors can bid for a minimum of 51 Equity Shares and in multiples of 51 Equity Shares thereafter.

​“There is a likelihood that just like other markets in India, it may lead to market consolidation, where eventually over time only a few of the largest manufacturers who are able to raise capital effectively and in a diversified way with backward integration will sustain,” Jyoti Gulia, CEO, JMK Research, a cleantech consultancy, told ETEnergyWorld.

The minister highlighted India’s achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, with solar tariffs dropping 76% over the last decade. “Tariffs for grid-connected solar plants have decreased from ₹10.95 per unit in FY 2010-11 to ₹2.60 in FY 2023-24,” he said, noting that cost reductions in solar technology are making it more accessible to households and businesses.

​Operating in eight states, AGEL has developed a diverse portfolio, including 400 MW in solar installations and a ₹700 crore Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) project nearing completion to help reduce emissions in power generation. With this range of initiatives, AGEL seeks to align with India's clean energy target of 500 GW by 2030.

“India’s energy transition requires states to strengthen renewable energy initiatives. Even leaders like Rajasthan and Gujarat must keep taking stock and corrective measures to ensure they do not lose momentum,” said Vibhuti Garg, co-author of the report and Director – South Asia, IEEFA.

The collaboration aims to expand their footprint in the renewable energy sector, encompassing a range of green technologies and projects, from solar and wind energy to green hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuel.

The ISA Assembly, the apex decision-making body of the Alliance, also selected eight Vice Presidents representing the four regional groups for the next term. Ghana and Seychelles were elected for Africa, Australia and Sri Lanka for Asia and the Pacific, Germany and Italy for Europe and Others, and Grenada and Suriname for Latin America and the Caribbean.

As Director General, Khanna will support the ISA Assembly in advancing its mandate, focusing on global solar energy deployment and assisting member countries in overcoming shared challenges.
